Fee structure (£682 standard, with three discount tiers down to £562) is consistently confirmed across multiple web search results citing the official Bassetlaw council website. The two-part fee payment structure (Part 1 on application, Part 2 after 28-day consultation) is confirmed. The absence of selective and additional licensing is confirmed by multiple independent sources including legislate.tech and council strategy documents. The 2018/19 selective licensing consultation outcome and the Thriving Neighbourhoods Strategy 2021-2025 are confirmed from council committee documents. The HMO register download link (July 2024 xlsx) was directly found via search indexing. Contact details (01909 533533, environmental.health@bassetlaw.gov.uk) are confirmed. The official website returns SSL certificate errors when fetched directly via the WebFetch tool, but page content was confirmed via multiple web search engine indexing of the official pages.
The HMO register is published as a downloadable Excel file rather than a live searchable online portal. The register includes: property address, licence holder name and address, manager name and address, licence dates (commencement and expiry), licence number, number of households, maximum occupants, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and other prescribed information per the Housing Act 2004 and 2006 regulations. The licensing portal at http://licensing.bassetlaw.gov.uk/PAforLalpacLIVE/1/WcaHome does not require login to view public register entries.
All councils in England must operate mandatory HMO licensing. This applies to properties with 5 or more occupants forming 2 or more separate households, regardless of location. If your property meets these criteria, you must apply for a mandatory HMO licence from Bassetlaw council.
Mandatory licensing for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) across the entire Bassetlaw district. Applies to all HMOs occupied by 5 or more persons living as 2 or more households who share facilities such as a kitchen or bathroom. Extended from 1 October 2018 to cover all qualifying HMOs regardless of number of storeys. Includes converted flats and purpose-built flats in blocks of up to two units where at least one is occupied by five or more people from more than one household.
Applications are made online through the Bassetlaw District Council licensing portal at http://licensing.bassetlaw.gov.uk/PAforLalpacLIVE/1/WcaHome (registration required). Payment is by debit/credit card by calling 01909 533 533, or by cheque (no cash) by post to: Finance Department, Bassetlaw District Council, Queen's Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 2AH. Operating without a licence is a criminal offence. DASH Landlord Accreditation (formerly EMLAS) provides free property advertising in Bassetlaw District Council Property Shops in Worksop and Retford.
